San Diego Eve
I was out on the Cabrillo Bridge that evening, looking towards the city from Balboa Park. That particular evening light was just something else, a deep blue fading into that warm orange glow. The rush of HWY 163 down there, all those cars turning into streaks of red and white, it’s always mesmerizing.
It’s a long exposure, obviously. I really wanted to pull out that motion, the energy of the traffic, against the calm of the sky winding down. And then, just like that, a plane flew right into the frame. Didn't even plan it, just pure luck to catch it descending over the city.
From this vantage point, you see everything kind of meshing together – the dark trees, the concrete ribbons of the highway, the natural light, and then all the artificial glow kicking on in the buildings. It's a real sweet spot to watch the city come alive at night.
