Point Reyes Headlands

Long exposure

This shot, you know, it's *the* shot for Point Reyes. The one everyone pictures. I got there pretty early, just as the morning light was starting to really hit those cliffs. You can see how the sun just catches the different textures and greens.

The sea was already pretty calm, but I wanted to really smooth it out. That long exposure does just what I wanted – turns the water into this sort of misty, ethereal surface. It makes those rocks sticking out look even more dramatic, like they're just floating.

It’s just a powerful view. The way the headlands stretch out, disappearing into the haze, with that big sky above. It’s exactly why people make the trip out here, and why I keep coming back too. Pure beauty.
