Bear and Cub on Trail

Long lens

You know that feeling when you're out on the trail and your gut just *knows*? That's what this was. I'd been hiking for a while, just enjoying the quiet, when I caught movement in the thick undergrowth ahead. Immediately, my senses sharpened.

Then Momma stepped out onto the path, just like that. She was big, majestic. And right behind her, tucked close, was this little cub, all fuzzy and wide-eyed, looking straight at me. You could just feel the protective energy around her, instinctual and powerful.

I kept my distance, moving slowly, heart thumping. The dappled sunlight cut through the trees, highlighting their fur and the vibrant green ferns. It was one of those moments where you just hold your breath, trying to be as still as possible, hoping to capture the beauty without disturbing a thing.
